Glorious Graphics

A California native, I was transplanted to the East Coast with our military family during grade school. As the third of five children, life in the middle gave me plenty of free time to explore my gift for art. Losing my only brother to the Vietnam war was a tragic turning point in my life and I often turned to art for solace.  Quiet seclusion with a sketch pad offered time to process grief and help mend a lonely and broken heart. I took art classes as a teen, focused on art in high school, and graduated from college with a fine arts degree in design. My art reflects these life experiences and the power of my spiritual journey. I enjoy bringing to life stories from the Bible, drawing on my own experiences while traveling in the Middle East and China.

 

When the mood strikes, my love for nature and animals calls me to the drawing table, along with working in fashion illustration and architectural drawing. I use a variety of techniques and mixed media including water color, India ink, colored pencils, and acrylic paint, and often have several works in progress at any given time.

 

I offer group and private lessons for children and senior adults. I specialize in helping special needs individuals enjoy creative self expression through experimentation in a variety of artistic styles and mediums.
